Chapter 1 Installing Windows
Important
During setup, the dialog box to specify the size of the partition on which
Windows Server 2003 is installed. Consider the partition size if you create a
new partition during installation.
1. The window to specify the partition size appears.
(* The windows below are examples. The actual display differs
depending on the system configuration.)
2. Create a partition on which Windows is installed.
When creating a new partition, the created partition is displayed as G:.
3. Delete the created partition G:, and create a new partition by using the
following procedure.
The operation might be different according to the installed language.
Delete it careFully according to the instructions on the screen.
(1) Select the created partition G:, and then press the <D> key.
(2) Read the displayed content, and then press the <L> key.
4. Create a partition on which Windows is installed again.
Partition creation is complete if the created partition is displayed as C:,
as shown below:
When installing Windows Server 2003 to a disk of over 2,097,152 MB (2 TB),
the partition size can only be set to 2,097,152 MB or less.
Tips
The system automatically restarts after copying files.
You do not have to remove the Flash FDD or CD-ROM.
Do not remove the CD-ROM if you do not remove the Flash FDD.
