49 | NEC DISPLAY WALL CALIBRATOR - USER’S GUIDE
This panel is used to perform the major operations in the application. The various
buttons will be disabled and enabled depending on the stage of the calibration
process.
Generally operations for calibrating the display are done in the same order as the
buttons.
Verify Selected - This will attempt to communicate with the currently selected display
in order to verify that it is accessible and correctly congured. If a display fails this
step, then follow the troubleshooting guide in chapter 7. Once all displays have been
veried, it is possible to go on to the Initialize step.
Verify All - This is the same as Verify Selected, but attempts to communicate with all
displays.
Initialize Selected - This will reset the selected display to the default color settings so
that the “native” performance of each display can be measured before the calibration.
Settings such as the Brightness, Color mode, Contrast etc. will be reset.
Initialize All - This is the same as Initialize Selected, but will reset each display in the project.
Measure Selected - This will measure the default “native” color characteristics of the currently selected display.
These measurements will determine the maximum possible Intensity that will give a color match with all the
displays. The user will be prompted to place the sensor on the screen while the software displays various test
patterns and takes measurements.
Measure All - This is the same as Measure Selected, except that all displays will be measured sequentially. The
user will be instructed which display to place the color sensor on while the software displays various test patterns
and takes measurements. This will repeat until all displays are measured.
There is no need to interact with the host PC while the displays are being measured with this option, since the next
display is selected automatically and the routine will wait until the color sensor is placed on the screen indicated.
This is useful if it is not convenient to have the host PC nearby, for example when standing on a ladder.
Note: If one or more of the displays have already been measured, then if Measure All is clicked, the user will be asked if
they want to measure just the remaining unmeasured displays, or re-measure all of the displays.
Calibrate Selected - This will calibrate the currently selected display to the Target settings. The user will be
prompted to place the sensor on the screen while the software displays various test patterns and takes makes
adjustments.
Calibrate All - This is the same as Calibrate Selected, except that all displays will be calibrated sequentially. The
user will be instructed which display to place the color sensor on while the software displays various test patterns
and makes adjustments. This will repeat until all displays are calibrated.
